    thanks for putting this list up here. I have just started reading Pitre. I am pursuing research into the atonement and the historical Jesus, return from exile is likely to be a major theme. http://www.ordinand.wordpress.com

    Jon, You might also want to check out (from your library; it’s pricey) Deliverance Now and Not Yet: The New Testament and the Great Tribulation by C. Marvin Pate and Douglas W. Kennard (Studies in Biblical Literature 54; Peter Lang 2003. They have a quite a bit on atonement during the Second Temple period. (Pitre references them.)

    As John Calvin would say, “Good luck in your studies.”

    Thanks again for the tip. I have just recieved the book and am finding it fascinating. Also recieved ‘The Stars will fall from heaven’ by Adams, and the Perriman ‘The comign of the Son of Man’.

    I’m jealous; I’d love to have Adam’s book. I saw him last month at BNTC, and he was great. (You’ve prompted me to add him to the eschatology bibliographies.)

    I was just looking at Perriman again the other day.
